Evening blow-dry bar · Santa Barbara

Your hair, done before the night starts

Swept is a blow-dry bar on State Street that opens in the afternoon. Every look lists its minutes, a party can sit in a row, and we are taking new guests now.

A white oval brush smooths a long section of light brown hair as a hairdryer dries it from above

Before you sit

Bring the photo and the neckline

A style looks right when it fits what you're wearing.

A photo of the look you want and a picture of your outfit help your stylist choose the height of a style, the placement of a part and how a wave falls. If you have a comb or a clip to wear, bring that too.

Bring what you have

  • A photo of the look you want

  • The neckline or the outfit for the night

  • Any clip, comb or band you'll wear

Questions

Before your first chair

How long does a blowout take?

A smooth blowout takes about 45 minutes, and an express blowout 30. Waves, curls and updos take from 55 to 75 minutes. Every look on the menu lists its minutes.

When should I book for a dinner or an event?

Book a chair that finishes 30 to 45 minutes before you leave, so there is time to walk out and get in the car. For an updo, give yourself the full 75 minutes and a little more.

Can I walk in?

Yes, Wednesday to Friday. The list opens when the doors do, and it closes 30 minutes before close. Saturday and Sunday are mostly booked.

Do I need to bring my own photo?

It helps, especially for waves and updos. A photo of the look and the neckline you're wearing tells your stylist more than words do.

Can I see my price before I book?

Prices are set by your stylist's level and shown on the booking page. How pricing works explains what sets them.

Can my friends book chairs together?

Yes. Tell us how many of you there are and when your event starts, and we'll set your chairs in a row. A party of five or more holds its chairs with a deposit.
