How long does a blowout take?
A smooth blowout takes about 45 minutes, and an express blowout 30. Waves, curls and updos take from 55 to 75 minutes. Every look on the menu lists its minutes.
When should I book for a dinner or an event?
Book a chair that finishes 30 to 45 minutes before you leave, so there is time to walk out and get in the car. For an updo, give yourself the full 75 minutes and a little more.
Can I walk in?
Yes, Wednesday to Friday. The list opens when the doors do, and it closes 30 minutes before close. Saturday and Sunday are mostly booked.
Do I need to bring my own photo?
It helps, especially for waves and updos. A photo of the look and the neckline you're wearing tells your stylist more than words do.
Can I see my price before I book?
Prices are set by your stylist's level and shown on the booking page. How pricing works explains what sets them.
Can my friends book chairs together?
Yes. Tell us how many of you there are and when your event starts, and we'll set your chairs in a row. A party of five or more holds its chairs with a deposit.
Do you do hair color or cuts?
No. Swept is a blow-dry bar: blowouts, heat styling and updos.
How do I make my style last through the evening?
Your stylist tells you what to do at the end of the visit. Keep your hair dry and away from steam, and ask about a light finishing spray.
Is there parking?
Parking is available in the city lots on Anacapa Street and in a garage a short walk from the bar. Street parking on State Street is metered.
Is the bar accessible?
The bar is on the ground floor with a step-free entrance. Tell us when you book if you need anything else.
